Why Would He Choose Me?

Why Would He Choose Me?

A YOUNG GIRL WONDERING WHY WOULD HE CHOOSE ME

She could of wondered why would he choose me?  Years ago a young girl had her life planned out.  She was to marry the love of her life and have no kinks in her plans.  This young girl probably was preparing wedding plans and thinking about that white picket fence.
She had so many hopes and dreams such as, how many kids they would have and what her job would be when she became older.  Her life was all planned out until one particular day.  God had other plans for her.
Without much of a warning she was visited by an angel named Gabriel.  Her life was about to be changed forever.  You have probably figured out that I am talking about Mary and Joseph.

I HAD MY LIFE PLANNED OUT SO WHY WOULD HE CHOOSE ME

I am sure she said, “But I had my life planned out differently”. She probably thought that God had the wrong person and she wasn’t worthy.  How many times do we feel this way?  We have our life planned out and we don’t want anything changing our plans.
We think that God has chosen the wrong person to do His job.  Or I am not worthy or good enough to share His word on His behalf.  Guess what!  God changes our plans to fulfill His plans.
What’s funny is that God’s plans ALWAYS work for our good!  He knows what is best for us even when we can’t see it.

GOD’S PLAN

One day I was looking up things on Pinterest, I came across a Christian blog.  I love reading anything about God and studying His word.  This particular writer was encouraging us to spread His word by starting a blog and using it as a platform.
I started laughing at first because I didn’t know the first thing about blogging. Could I really be a blogger? Questioning myself at first and wondering would anyone listen to what I have to say?  Then, doubt set in and I wondered whether I was good enough to do this.  I still wondered why would he choose me?

ME GOD, NO WAY

I love talking to people but I wasn’t comfortable getting in front of the camera.  God was telling me that this is what He wanted me to do!  He wanted me to tell my stories through writing, creating videos of me telling my stories and interviewing other believers to share their stories.
God told me that I have experience and expertise in certain areas and He wants me to use my background to help His daughters (I am crying as I am writing this).  This is my passion but I thought it would be more one on one and NOT video taping myself. I was so scared!!!!

WHY WOULD HE CHOOSE ME

Why me God?  There are so many other speakers that are better than I will ever be?  I had a thought that was from God, “Where I lead you, you will follow.”  This is when I came across these verses:

Genesis 12:1

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.”

Jeremiah 10:23

Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps.

Luke 9:57

As they were walking along the road, a man said to him,  “I will follow you wherever you go.”

These verses made me realize that He choose me so He could use me for His will.  I will follow wherever He leads me.  God chooses you also to do His will so try following Him.

ARE YOU LISTENING TO GOD’S VOICE

Are you listening for God’s voice or are you going in your direction or His?  You might want something to go the way you have planned it.  Ask God if that is His will for you.
You never know, He might have different plans.  Obey Him and see where He takes you.  Ask for Him to open and shut doors for you.  Be patient because sometimes he is keeping you where you are for a little while for you to gain experience and knowledge.
You might not be ready for the next step.  Ask God for your desires to be His desires.  A lot of times when you are looking for a relationship with God, He will reveal what He wants for your life.  Let me pray for you so leave a comment below.

Matthew 7:7

Ask, Seek, Knock

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Church and Marriage are more alike

Church and Marriage are more alike

 CHURCH AND MARRIAGE ARE ALIKE

My husband and I have been going to the same church for around 21 years now. We have been married for 23 years! Our church has had some changes recently and it has made me sit back and think, “Is this what I want for our family?”  Our youth minister is leaving and our associate minister left recently.  I don’t particularly like change.  I have realized that church and marriage are alike.

While I was praying about this, something came to mind.  How I feel about my church is a lot like my relationship in my marriage. When our marriage becomes a problem then we change what is going on and revive it.  There are disappointments in a marriage because we are all human.  In our marriage we both contribute so no one is doing all of the work.  We choose to stay with our husband and cultivate our relationship. It’s not always greener on the other side.  My husband is always there for me!

OUR CHURCH HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE FOR US

We should view our church the same way. When our church has problems so we pray to revive it.  When you have disappointments in how the church is going, remember that we are all human.  Everyone should contribute so not just a few are working.  Changes are always happening in the church because that is life. Changing churches isn’t always the answer.

There will be a problem eventually with the new church.  My church has always there for me!  When we had financial problems, guess who was there to meet our needs.  When I was in the hospital with pregnancy issues, guess who was there to pray for me and support me.  My church family was there and if you keep switching churches to find something that is perfect then you will be disappointed.

Don’t place your faith in people because they will fail you often.  Get involved in a church.  If you don’t like something then YOU help change it.  We are the body of Christ and ALL of us should be pitching in to do the work.

When comparing the two I realized how precious both are to me.  My husband and church family are my support system.  I encourage you to find a church family to be with you through your ups and your downs.  We all need each other!  Developing a relationship with God is anther place to start.  God is with you wherever you go so turn to him.

I realized that church and marriage are alike.  They are both the head of the house, protect me and love me very much!
